PNEUMATIC VACUUM SYSTEM

The pneumatic system for transferring and handling metal chips allows the chips to be conveyed, continuously and automatically, directly from the production points (machine tools) to a centralised collection point. It consists of a pneumatic circuit, which uses the air speed to suction the chips and make them slide along the conveyor lines up to a specific point intended for the treatment and/or storage of the chips.

The system consists of:

  1. GSM - sub-machine unit
    This is a special reservoir placed at the base of the machine tool evacuation system, which accumulates humid chips for a certain amount of time.
    A level sensor schedules the GSM for cleaning and joins it to the suction process. The GSM dosing screw conveys the chip to the suction point.

  2. Crusher
    This machine has been designed to crush long and tangled metal chips.

  3. Conveyor air circuit
    Made with stainless steel pipes.

  4. Vacuum pump
    High prevalence suction unit complete with sound-proof cabin and silencer.

  5. Safety filter
    Device used to protect the pump against dust or foreign bodies found in the suctioned air.

  6. Cyclonic separator
    Device used to separate the chip from the suctioned air.
    The chip exiting the cyclonic separator falls inside a tank where it is stored or sent to the centrifuge to extract the cutting fluid.

PNEUMATIC PRESSURE CONVEYOR

This system is simple but extremely powerful, as it allows you to transfer short and dry chips from one point to another with a 3'' pipeline. It is normally used in FAMA s.r.l. systems to load silos, when they are far from the treatment area, replacing cumbersome channel evacuators. The system is powered by a displacement pump, which provides enough energy to generate a fast flow of air, which transports the chips. A dosing device powers the device continuously to optimise transport.

The system consists of:

  1. Dosing device
    This is used as a lung to adjust the system chip flow and balance the hourly production.

  2. Venturi Ejector
    Special device used to convert pressure energy into kinetic energy.

  3. Pressure pump
    Provides enough energy to push the chip through the flow line.

  4. Flow line
    Made with stainless steel pipes.

  5. Silos
    Chip storage area.

HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

This system is used to collect and centralise chips and coolant. It is a versatile, non-invasive system, which can easily be extended and modified. It provides immediate benefits. The system eliminates all problems related to chip and oil handling. The collection system must be integrated with the oil filtration and machine reintegration systems.

The system consists of:

  1. crusher
    This machine has been designed to crush long and tangled metal chips.

  2. oil collection tank
    This reservoir is suitable for collecting the oil coming from the machine tool.
    It is equipped with a pump, which pushes the chips inside the manifold.

  3. Pressure line
    Equipped with emergency manual valve.

  4. Manifold
    Gravity manifold channel to recover chips and oil.

  5. main collection tank
    Reservoir in which chip and oil/emulsion are collected and separated. By decanting, the chip is deposited on the bottom and is removed by a dredger. The chip then follows its treatment and storage process. The oil/emulsion can be filtered, super filtered, or refrigerated before being pumped to the low or high pressure machines.

CENTRALISED MECHANICAL SYSTEM

This is a traditional centralised system, which collects chips and oil via scraper and slat channels. The channels are placed inside excavated trenches. The machines are placed in line in order to unload the chips and oil inside the channels, which flow up to the collection tank.

The system consists of:

  1. Evacuation system from the machine tool
    The evacuation system must be equipped with hoppers in order to allow wet chips to be unloaded in the collection channel.

  2. Collection channel
    A scraper or slat conveyor is positioned inside the trench.

  3. Screening or plates
    These are designed for protection and allow you to walk on the channel surface.

  4. Dredged tank
    Collection reservoir for the chips soaked with oil. It is sized to guarantee good chip decanting. The chip deposited on the bottom will be removed by the dredge and unloaded in a tank or treated by centrifuge.

TREATMENT UNITS

Treatment units are a combination of several FAMA devices. The combination of elements depends on the user's requirements, both in terms of type and quantity of chips to be treated and of space available. They are complete with electrical panel and can be integrated with a centralised chip conveying system.

COMPACT UNITS

Compact units have been designed to treat small or medium quantities of chips.
They are suitable for:

  • small enterprises, which process multimaterial, treating small quantities of chips for different metals.

  • large enterprises, which mainly work with a certain type of metal and normally have a centralised system, treating small amount of materials depending on special job orders.

The compact unit is mounted on a palletised flatbed for easy handling. It is complete with electrical control panel and wiring; therefore it is ready for use.

    These machines are available in different sizes and power and they are often equipped with special applications. They also have mechanical or hydraulic transmission motors.

These constructions are well made and suitable for demanding customers. The silos that use our systems can be divided into 3 types:
